The project team maintains the datasets on Harvard Dataverse monthly. Up to November 2023, global users from 150 countries have downloaded all shared datasets on [Harvard Dataverse](https://dataverse.harvard.edu/dataverse/cdl_dataverse) more than 1,800,000 times. The team has crafted various tools rooted in workflows, enabling users to easily tap into external datasets hosted on platforms like [Harvard Dataverse](https://dataverse.harvard.edu/dataverse/cdl_dataverse), [GitHub](https://github.com/orgs/spatial-data-lab/repositories), [China Geo-Explorer database](https://www.chinageoexplorer.com/cge/), and [KNIME Hub](https://hub.knime.com/center%20for%20geographic%20analysis%20at%20harvard%20university/spaces/Geospatial%20Analytics%20Examples/latest/~ieq2yfgeQUshNTi-/) . Notably, besides existing noes on [US Census data](https://hub.knime.com/center%20for%20geographic%20analysis%20at%20harvard%20university/extensions/sdl.harvard.features.geospatial/latest/org.knime.python3.nodes.extension.ExtensionNodeSetFactory%24DynamicExtensionNodeFactory:506c168) and [Open Street Map](https://hub.knime.com/center%20for%20geographic%20analysis%20at%20harvard%20university/extensions/sdl.harvard.features.geospatial/latest/org.knime.python3.nodes.extension.ExtensionNodeSetFactory%24DynamicExtensionNodeFactory:f02434c4) and [Harvard Dataverse extension](https://github.com/spatial-data-lab/knime-dataverse-extension).

This project on COVID-19 Dataset aims to provide an information infrastructure for the spatial study of the new novel coronavirus (COVID-19), which was first reported in Wuhan, China and then were found in more than 60 countries and regions in the world. The objectives of this project are:

- To provide data support for the spatial study of COVID-19 at local, regional and global levels with information collected and integrated from different sources.
- To facilitate quantitative research on spatial spreading and impacts of COVID-19 with advanced methodology and technology.
- To promote collaborative research on the spatial study of COVID-19 on the China Data Lab, Dataverse and WorldMap platforms.
- To build research capacity for future collaborative projects.

This project is a joint effort by scholars and professionals from the [Center for Geographical Analysis](https://gis.harvard.edu/) at Harvard University, [the Geo-Computation Center for Social Sciences](http://www.lmars.whu.edu.cn/gcss/index.php/en) at Wuhan University, the [China Data Institute](http://chinadatacenter.net/), the [Future Data Lab](http://futuredatalab.org/), and the [RMDS Lab](https://www.rmdslab.com/). The project has received support from many other research institutions and companies on data, methodology, technology, and cloud platform. The final data are deployed to [covid-19.chinadatalab.net](https://dataverse.harvard.edu/dataverse/2019ncov) for research sharing.

More details about the COVID-19 project is on the shared presentation [An Introduction to the Data Resources for Covid-19 Studies](https://dataverse.harvard.edu/file.xhtml?persistentId=doi:10.7910/DVN/OTYQUY/ZLLZVU&version=1.0).

We are maintaining and updating the dataset on Harvard Dataverse.
