Project Description:

This project focuses on developing and applying methods to detect hate speech in social media data. Such methods could involve developing corpora of hate terms or fine-tuning large language models.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Collect geotagged social media posts
  • Create lists of hate-terms for different minority groups
  • Create training data for supervised classification
  • Process and classify large amounts of documents 

Minimum qualifications:

  • R/Python programming
  • GIS
  • Literature search

Term of the Project:

  • 1 year

Deliverables:

  • A set of visualizations (maps, charts) showcasing key insights.
  • A comprehensive report detailing findings, interpretations, and recommendations.
