Project Title: Crime Data Analysis with Google Data Science Agent

Key Words: Crime Data; Machine Learning; Google Data Science Agent; Spatial Data Analysis; Cloud Computing

Research Topics: GeoAI

Mentor: Yanqing Xu, Wuhan University

Project Description:

This project explores the application of Google's cloud-based data science tools for crime data analysis, including but not limited to Google Cloud AI, AutoML, BigQuery, and Google Data Science Agent. The project will utilize machine learning models to predict crime hotspots, analyze spatial and temporal crime trends, and identify patterns that may otherwise be overlooked in traditional crime analysis methods. It will aim to improve public safety by providing actionable insights through AI-driven data analysis and intelligent decision-making support.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  •  Data Collection and Preprocessing
  • Model Development
  • Spatial Analysis
  • Time Series and Predictive Analytics
  • Results Interpretation and Visualization
  • Documentation and Reporting

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree (or equivalent experience) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Geography, Criminology, or related fields.

Term of the Project:

  • 1 year

Deliverables:

  • Preprocessed dataset compatible with the ESRI GEOAI toolbox.
  • GeoAI analysis results, including spatial pattern detection, clustering, and predictive modeling.
  • A set of visualizations (maps, charts) showcasing key insights.
  • A comprehensive report detailing findings, interpretations, and recommendations.
  • Documentation of the workflow, methodology, and tools used for reproducibility.
  • Presentation of key findings and insights to the research team and stakeholders.
  • Peer reviewed papers, presentations, workshops/tutorials related to the project.
