24016 Commerical Determinants of Health
Project Title: 24016 Commerical Determinants of Health
Research Topics: GeoAI, Public Health
Mentors: Lingbo Liu and Bryn Austin, Harvard University
Project Description:
This project aims to explore how commercial activities and environments influence public health outcomes through the application of geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI) . This project leverages cutting-edge GeoAI technologies to analyze the spatial distribution of commercial determinants, such as the availability and accessibility of food outlets, tobacco and alcohol retailers, and recreational facilities and their impacts on community health.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1 Project Lead
1) Overall Project Management: Oversee all aspects of the project, ensuring that goals and timelines are met.
2) Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with funding bodies, government agencies, and community organizations to secure support and collaboration.
3) Reporting: Provide regular updates to stakeholders, prepare progress reports, and present findings at relevant conferences and meetings.
2 Data Scientist
1) Data Collection and Preprocessing: Gather and preprocess geospatial and health data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.
2) GeoAI Analysis: Apply geospatial artificial intelligence techniques to analyze the spatial distribution of commercial determinants and their impacts on health outcomes.
3) Predictive Modeling: Develop and refine machine learning models to predict public health impacts based on commercial environment changes.
3 GIS Specialist
1) Mapping and Visualization: Create detailed maps and visualizations to illustrate the spatial patterns of commercial determinants and their correlation with health outcomes.
2) Spatial Data Management: Manage and maintain the geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for the project team.
3) Tool Development: Develop and enhance geospatial tools and applications to support data analysis and visualization.
4 Public Health Researcher
1) Health Data Analysis: Analyze public health data to identify trends and correlations with commercial determinants.
2) Literature Review: Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to contextualize findings within existing research.
3) Policy Recommendations: Formulate evidence-based policy recommendations and intervention strategies based on the analysis.
5 Community Engagement Coordinator
1) Community Outreach: Engage with local communities to gather input and feedback on commercial determinants and their health impacts.
2) Public Education: Develop and deliver educational materials and workshops to inform the public about the project's findings and health implications.
